Work Truck Wednesday 12-19-18: New Chevy LCF Gas Unit with 14' Stakebed

Rich McGrath with Paradise Chevrolet Fleet shows off the all-new Chevy 4500 Low Cab Forward. This unit has a 6.0 Gas V8 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission with many creature comforts such as power windows and door locks, AC, tilt-telescopic steering wheel and more.

This unit is equipped with a 14' Martin Flatbed with 48" Gates, and also is equipped with a Palfinger 2,000 lb. tuckaway liftgate with a 42" x 80" platform.

The best thing about this rig is that it will carry a lot of cargo and yet still has a very tight turning radius. The wheelbase on this rig is only 132" and that is about the same as a standard regular cab pickup truck with an 8' bed, and this unit sports a 14' bed, and yet turns sharper than the pickup would.

This is an example of our current stock #M18734 and you can see more about it here. Or, better yet, give us a call at 951-252-2980 and let us help you find the perfect truck for your business.

Silverado's 6.2L V-8 Named To Wards 10 Best Engines List

Dynamic Fuel Management technology
makes the engine a top choice

2018-12-13

DETROIT — The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has won a 2019 Wards 10 Best Engines Award. The award-winning 6.2L V-8 employs industry-leading Dynamic Fuel Management or DFM to save fuel without sacrificing performance.

“General Motors’ thundering 420-horsepower V-8 in the Silverado exemplifies how engineers continue to find ways to improve efficiency without giving up something in return. DFM determines 80 times per second exactly how many cylinders require fuel to meet power demands. And, incredibly, it uses as few as two cylinders to propel the full-size pickup down the highway,” says Senior Content Director Drew Winter. “The truly amazing part is the cylinder deactivation is imperceptible, so seamless that the only thing the driver notices is fewer stops at the pump.”

For the competition, WardsAuto editors evaluate every all-new or significantly improved engine or electric propulsion system available in production vehicles in the U.S. Vehicles must have a starting MSRP less than $64,000. The editors score eligible vehicles on horsepower, torque, technology, observed fuel economy, relative competitiveness, and noise characteristics.

The 6.2L V-8 and the available 5.3L V-8 are the first V-8s available with Dynamic Fuel Management. Compared to Active Fuel Management, which alternates between eight- and four-cylinder modes, DFM features 17 cylinder patterns. That greater authority mixes cylinder patterns constantly to optimize efficiency and power delivery at all speeds.

“Chevrolet first introduced its Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation system in 2005, and Dynamic Fuel Management is a natural progression of the technology,” said Jordan Lee, Small Block chief engineer. “Dynamic Fuel Management enables only the cylinders needed to deliver the power you want, seamlessly delivering the best balance of power and fuel economy.”

The 6.2L with DFM — the largest and most powerful gas V-8 in the segment — is manufactured at GM’s Tonawanda engine plant in New York. It is SAE-certified at 420 horsepower (313 kW) and 460 lb-ft of torque (623 Nm) and paired with a Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2019 Silverado is larger than before, including a wheelbase that is up to 3.9 inches (100 mm) longer and an overall length that is 1.6 inches (41 mm) longer, enabling both more cargo volume and more interior room for all cab lengths. Remarkably, it’s also lighter, weighing 450 pounds (204 kg) less than today’s truck when comparing crew cab V-8 models.

Silverado 1500 offerings include regular cab, double cab, and crew cab body styles, all available with 4WD.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. To Pace 2019 Daytona 500 In All-New Chevrolet Silverado

It’s the first time a pickup truck
will pace The Great American Race

2018-12-11

DETROIT — Dale Earnhardt Jr. will find himself in a very familiar place at the 2019 Daytona 500: at the front of the pack.

Earnhardt Jr., a two-time Daytona 500 winner, will drive the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pace truck to lead the field to green for the 61st running of The Great American Race. This is the first time the Daytona 500 will be paced by a pickup truck.

“I’ve had a lot of fun and a lot of success at Daytona over the years, and now I can’t wait to get out on that track in a Silverado,” said Earnhardt Jr. “Away from the track I’ve driven Chevy trucks all my life, and I’m excited to have this unique experience of pacing the Daytona 500 with the Silverado.”

In addition to winning The Great American Race in 2004 and 2014, Earnhardt Jr. was a two-time winner of the July race at Daytona, overall scoring four wins, 13 top 5 finishes and 19 top 10s in 36 NASCAR Cup Series career starts at Daytona International Speedway. Earnhardt Jr. was voted the sport’s Most Popular Driver for 15 consecutive years.

“Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the perfect choice to pace the race because of his enthusiasm for the sport, his long history with Chevrolet and his love of trucks,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “It’ll be exciting to have Dale lead the field to green in the strongest, most advanced Silverado ever.”

The Silverado pace truck is powered by a production 6.2L V-8 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It delivers 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Chevrolet has paced the Daytona 500 12 times, seven with Camaro and five with Corvette.

Chevrolet Reveals 2020 Silverado HD High Country Model For All-New Pickup

Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ and High Country models
offer different combinations of design, features,
and technologies tailored for different customers

DETROIT — Chevrolet knows no two truck customers are the same, and as such continues to expand its truck franchise with five distinct trim levels for the all-new Silverado HD: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and range-topping High Country.

This follows the expanded range of customer choices on the all-new Silverado 1500, which has eight distinct trim levels. As with the 2019 Silverado 1500, each 2020 Silverado HD model offers a different level of design, features, and technology to meet the individual and rigorous demands of HD owners.

“Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president, Global Design, General Motors. “That insight shaped our strategy for the next-generation Silverado franchise, providing customers more differentiation between the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD as well as more personalization and differentiation between individual trim levels.”

For example, each of the Silverado HD models features distinct exterior design details including grilles featuring either the Chevrolet stamped bar or the iconic Chevrolet bowtie and a mix of black, body color, chrome or the two-tone metallic trim exclusive to High Country models.

“We took into account every detail of what customers expect, and how they will use their truck,” said Simcoe. “The results are unique versions of the Silverado HD equally at home working on a construction site or pulling a camping trailer.”

The 2020 Silverado HD goes on sale in mid-2019. Stay tuned for more details about the all-new 2020 Silverado HD — including images of Work Truck, Custom, and LTZ — closer to launch.

Most Capable, Most Advanced Silverado HD Ever To Debut In February 2019

2020 Silverado HD is the third all-new Silverado in 18 months

DETROIT — When the 2020 Silverado HD debuts in February 2019 it will be the most capable and most advanced Silverado HD ever. It will also be the third all-new Silverado model from Chevrolet in just 18 months — each designed for different customers.
“We know the needs and priorities of heavy-duty customers are different than those of either light-duty or medium-duty customers,” said Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer, Silverado HD. “As such, we built a heavy-duty truck tailor-made for them that has more differentiation than ever before from light-duty models, offers advanced towing technologies to improve towing confidence and includes new features such as the integrated Bedstep, which makes it easier to access the bed while pulling a fifth-wheel trailer.”
Built at the Flint Assembly plant in Flint, Mich., the new Silverado HD’s design has a bold, sculpted form that follows its enhanced heavy-duty function, differentiating it from the light-duty Silverado. In fact, the 2020 Silverado HD exterior shares only the roof with its Silverado 1500 stablemate — every other piece of sheet metal is exclusive to Silverado HD.
“We set out to make a statement with the 2020 Silverado HD and wanted to visually capture the power and capability of the truck,” said Brian Izard, lead exterior designer for Silverado HD. “The result is a truck that looks like a piece of heavy machinery with modern, chiseled finishes and customer-focused details.”
The interior benefits from similar architectural changes made to the all-new Silverado 1500, including an additional 3 inches of legroom on crew cab models and a taller, more comfortable seating position.
Under the 2020 Silverado HD’s hood is a choice of two new powertrains: an all-new gasoline engine with direct injection mated to a six-speed transmission, or the Duramax Turbo-Diesel V-8, which delivers 910 lb-ft of torque through an all-new, Allison 10-speed transmission.
The 2020 Silverado HD also will offer all-new customer-focused trailering technology, significant increases in towing and payload capabilities and a host of technologies and features designed specifically for heavy-duty truck customers.
GM’s focus on understanding truck customers has helped build the most successful truck franchise in the industry over the last four years. Since introducing the industry’s first three-truck strategy with midsize, full-size light-duty and full-size heavy-duty trucks in 2014, GM has been the best-selling truck manufacturer for four consecutive years. The company has sold more than 600,000 pickups than the closest manufacturer from 2014 through the first three quarters of 2018.
That momentum is expected to continue with the launches of the new Colorado ZR2 Bison, all-new Silverado 1500, the all-new Silverado Medium-Duty trucks and now the all-new Silverado HD models.
The 2020 Silverado HD goes on sale in mid-2019, stay tuned for more details about the all-new 2020 Silverado HD.

Section 179 Tax Deduction Deadline Is Near! Take Maximum Advantage! Save Money!

Section 179 of the United States Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 179), allows a taxpayer to elect to deduct the cost of certain types of property on their income taxes as an expense, rather than requiring the cost of the property to be capitalized and depreciated. This property is generally limited to tangible, depreciable, personal property which is acquired by purchase for use in the active conduct of a trade or business.

No need to spread the expense out, and you can take maximum advantage of this tax code, but time is running out. The end of this year is near. Call us at Paradise Fleet and let us help you get the equipment you need and help you save money by taking advantage of this great Section 179 deduction.

Standard Material Rack vs Forklift Loadable Rack

Here's a quick video of the difference between a standard ladder or material rack, or it could be called a non-forklift loadable rack, versus the forklift loadable version. The easy way to tell in a hurry is that there are typically two sidebars that run the length of the rack that are a few inches apart. This allows one to put a load up against the sidebars and to help keep the load on the rack and also make it easy to tie the load down. The forklift loadable rack doesn't have that top full-length bar. Instead, it has what many call goal posts, which also allow you to put a load next to them to help keep it on the rack, and then that load can also be tied down. The big difference is the height of the load bars or crossbars. On the forklift loadable rack, the crossbars are higher than the full-length sidebar, which allows the load to be put onto the bars and then there is sufficient room for the forklift forks to be removed. On the standard rack, the load bars and the lower sidebars are the same height. Combo Body vs. Contractor Body Explained

Here's a brief overview of what makes a Combo body. The Combo body is often confused with the Contractor body. The Contractor body is a flatbed with tool boxes on top and a Combo body is a service or utility body where the last compartment is removed and a work platform is added. The Combo body always has a steel floor, and the Contractor body typically has a wood floor, but it can also have a steel or aluminum floor. The other difference is that the Combo body has a much lower height work area than the Contractor body. If you have more questions, contact the Paradise Chevrolet Fleet team at 951-252-2980,

Cargo Bed Enclosures Explained

The cargo bed enclosure does exactly what it states: It covers the cargo bed area, and it does this with a sliding lockable top. Sometimes people call it a roll-top. It's a great way to keep things out of sight and safe from much of the environment too. These tops come in two and three-piece units. The two piece unit opens up approximately half of the bed area, and the three-piece opens up about two-thirds of the bed area. The standard height, is at the top of the side lids, and then there are two other heights, one is cab-high, and the other is taller, often about 39" above the service body lids. Depending on what you intend to carry inside that bed area, this will determine the best cargo bed enclosure for your needs. If you have any questions, give the Paradise Chevrolet Fleet team a call at 951-252-2980, and you can also find a lot of information about truck bodies and truck body options and accessories on our Fleet website at http://www.paradiseworktrucks.com.

GM Breaks New Ground with the Industry’s First True, Optional Extended Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty

October 15, 2018

GRAND BLANC, MICH. — Effective immediately, people buying new General Motors vehicles will have the opportunity to purchase a true, extended bumper-to-bumper limited warranty resulting in five years or 60,000 miles of coverage (whichever comes first) for Chevrolet and GMC customers, and six years or 70,000 miles for Buick and Cadillac customers. No other brand offers customers a true extended warranty.

“One of the best things about buying a new vehicle is the peace of mind that comes with the warranty,” said Ken Mac, director of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac Protection. “If you drive a Chevrolet, you know that any GM-brand dealer will take care of warranty repairs without paperwork, deductibles or exclusions. The same goes for Cadillac, GMC and Buick owners. Now, we’re offering people the opportunity to increase the duration of their bumper-to-bumper warranty far out into the future.”

The standard factory bumper-to-bumper limited warranty on Chevrolet and GMC products is three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. On Buicks and Cadillacs, it is four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

GM’s new warranty program differs in several important ways from service contracts, which are a popular way to protect against unexpected repairs.

The most important differences include:

  • The optional limited warranty is accepted without question by all Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers nationwide.
  • Any warranty service is completed without the need to file a claim form and with no deductible.
  • The warranty is in force no matter who owns the vehicle, so there’s no need to transfer coverage. This may enhance the resale value of the vehicle.
  • The option is included in the overall price of the vehicle and can, therefore, be folded into the loan or lease at the customer's request.

“People who lease typically keep the vehicle for 24-36 months, so most of them are always covered by the base bumper-to-bumper limited warranty,” Mac said. “But if you buy, analysts say you’ll likely keep your new vehicle for over six years. This true extended warranty can keep the average customers covered for most if not all of the time they own their vehicle.”

On average, new car buyers keep vehicles for about 6.8 years, according to IHS Markit.

2019 Silverado 1500 Durabed Is Largest Pickup Bed

DETROIT — With best-in-class cargo volume, box depth, box length at the floor, plus a segment-leading 12 fixed tie-downs and exclusive power up/down tailgate, the 2019 Silverado 1500 is the most functional bed of any pickup.

“The bed is the heart and soul of any pickup, so we made several improvements to the bed of the all-new Silverado to give our customers an even better hauling experience,” said Tim Herrick, executive chief engineer, Full-Size Trucks, General Motors. “We’ve added so many features and benefits that it deserves its own name – Durabed.”

Silverado now has 12 fixed tie-downs, and the strength of each of these has doubled from 250 lbs. to 500 lbs. of force before bending. An additional nine moveable tie-down points are available as well for even more cargo flexibility. Together, these 21-total tie-downs are the most of any full-size pickup.

The accessibility of the tie-downs has also been improved. Tie-downs are now located at varying heights to offer customers greater versatility in what they can secure and haul.

The Durabed truck bed, standard on all 2019 Silverado 1500 models, also includes larger cutouts in the GM-exclusive CornerStep bumpers to better accommodate steel-toed boots.

Durabed is also available with integrated, in-bed LED lighting and a 110/120-volt power outlet. A light at the top of the rear cab comes standard on all Silverado models

The 2019 Silverado 1500 will also be available with four tailgate variants:

  • Standard gate: a manual gate with no lift assist; manually lockable (with key)
  • Standard Gate with Lift Assist: a stamped gate that includes lift assist; manually lockable (with key)
  • Power Lock/Release: includes lift assist and automatic release; power lockable
  • Industry-exclusive power up/down: available on the LTZ and standard on High Country, the tailgate raises or lowers using the key fob, touchpads on the gate or button in the cabin. Includes lift assist, automatic release, and power closing; power lockable

The 2019 Silverado goes on sale this fall.

ALL-NEW 2.7L TURBO ADDS TO EFFICIENT, FUN-TO-DRIVE 2019 SILVERADO

More torque, higher horsepower, and better city mpg
over previously standard 4.3L V-6

Oct 10, 2018

DETROIT — The all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the technologically advanced 2.7L Turbo offers full-size truck customers a capable and efficient choice with an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 20 mpg city/23 mpg highway in rear-wheel-drive models.

To achieve both better performance and overall efficiency, engineers made smart choices with engine technologies, advanced manufacturing and the use of mixed materials. The base curb weight of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado with the 2.7L Turbo is 380 pounds less than the current Silverado with the 4.3L V-6, despite having more interior room and cargo space.

“The new Silverado 2.7L Turbo delivers impressive performance and fuel efficiency,” said Tim Asoklis, Silverado chief engineer. “It’s fun to drive every day — quick from the start and pulling hard under acceleration. With up to 23 mpg on the highway, the truck is efficient while still offering plenty of capability to tackle weekend projects and trips to the lake.”

Standard on LT and RST trim levels, the 2.7L engine offers 14 percent more torque and 13 percent better city fuel economy and it is more than a full second quicker 0-60 mph than the 4.3L V-6 it replaces. The Silverado city fuel economy also exceeds the standard 3.3L V-6 engine offering in the Ford F-150 XLT (EPA-estimated 19 mpg city) and matches that of the Ram 1500 3.6L V-6 mild hybrid (EPA-estimated 20 mpg city).

The new Silverado also delivers the largest cargo volume of any full-size truck on the market, so customers don’t have to sacrifice space for efficiency. They’ll also enjoy Silverado’s full-size truck capability and durability. The new 2.7L Turbo engine delivers an SAE-certified 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque, exceeding Ford’s 3.3L V-6 and Ram’s 3.6L V-6 mild hybrid by 31 percent and 29 percent respectively. The Silverado 2.7L Turbo reaches its peak torque more quickly than Ford or Ram engines in the segment and delivers it from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. Customers will feel that power as the truck can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds. Its max towing capacity is 7,200 pounds and there is a 2,280-pound max payload.*

Developed from the outset as a truck engine, the new 2.7L Turbo integrates many different innovative technologies to support engine performance and efficiency, including:

  • An innovative double overhead cam valvetrain that enables high- and low-lift valve profiles, continuously variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation).
  • A dual-volute turbocharger housing for improved throttle response, low-speed torque, and virtually no turbo lag.
  • Chevrolet’s first application of Active Thermal Management, which uses targeted engine heating and cooling across the entire powertrain system to create optimal conditions for optimal fuel economy and recover otherwise wasted exhaust heat for faster engine and transmission warm up.
  • Stop/start technology that automatically stops the engine in stop-and-go traffic for fuel efficiency.

The engine was subjected to months of nonstop testing to simulate a lifetime of maximum hot and cold cycles. This is in addition to more than 475,000 validation tests and 1 million miles of real-world testing to deliver the durability and performance Chevrolet truck customers demand.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers eight trims paired with six engine/transmission combinations so every customer can find the right truck to match their unique performance, efficiency, technology and value requirements

Work Truck Wednesday 10-17-18 - Secret Hidden Storage Haven!

This secret hidden storage haven is called a transverse compartment and is available on any utility or service body from the 2500HD 8' single rear wheel to the 11' or longer body on the dual rear wheel models, including the upcoming 2019 4500-6500HD medium-duty models as well as the current Low Cab Forward tilt-cab chassis.

This option can be configured in numerous ways, and what is shown here is a 3-drawer setup which would be ideal for contractors who use a lot of small fittings and such in their business. Just imagine the number of small parts that can be carried in these long drawers! Yet nobody knows they are there until you pull the drawers all the way out as in the top photo.

With the transverse compartment, you do lose a little bit of storage space in the bed area but it is up against the cab. But, now you can reach anything in the bed without climbing up in the bed area. Also, the compartment typically only goes through the bed area to the backside of the opposite side compartment like the one shown, but it can be set up to go all the way through the body too.

The truck shown is a Knapheide service body and is shown in a 9' dual rear wheel body on a 60" cab-to-axle 3500HD. This is a great unit which will carry a lot of weight and still has the turning radius almost the same as a standard pickup truck.

There are so many solutions that you may not be aware that we can customize just for your business.

If this option is something that would benefit your business, give us a call at 951-252-2980 and we will be happy to get the perfect configuration for you.

Get Organized with Service Body Drawers!

Service Bodies, which are sometimes called Utility Bodies are one of the most popular truck bodies in the U.S., and for good reason. They have lockable compartments with shelves, typically open-top lids for small parts or long tools, and bed area similar to an 8' pickup bed area, and more.

There are many who carry small parts to do work in the field, or they want to organize their tools and such. In this case, the service body drawers are the perfect answer. They are available in different sizes. In this image, there are three 3" and two 5" tall drawers. In addition, you can one drawer or the maximum that will fit in the compartment, and of course, you can have them installed in multiple compartments as well, including the horizontal compartment.

Work Truck Wednesday Oct 3, 2018: Moving Stuff Efficiently

Today for the October 3rd Work Truck Wednesday, we want to highlight a truck that can carry a lot of stuff safely and efficiently, and do it for a very long time to come.

This is a new 2017 Chevrolet LCF 4500 which sports a 14,500 lb. GVWR so it can carry some heavy things, and it is equipped with an American Truck Body 16' Stakebed with 48" wooden removable gates.

It is efficient in that this unit has an Isuzu made diesel 4-cyl engine with plenty of torque and is designed to go beyond 300k miles, so it will outlast many other units. It is a heavy duty truck that is designed to run at maximum GVWR 100% of the time. Just look at the wheels and lug nuts to see some of that.

It is efficient in space. This unit has the turning radius similar to a pickup truck because of its design. With only a 150" wheelbase, it sports a 16' truck body. This is because the cab is on top of the front wheels allowing for maximum cargo space in this small physical imprint. So maneuverability in tight city quarters is a great benefit.

This unit is also fun to drive and you have excellent visibility due to the large windshield and the extra height. The cab also tilts allowing easy access to the majority of the engine.

From the HD frame to the HD axles to the HD wheels, and fuel-efficient and long-life motor, this truck may be the best bargain in a long time in your operation.

This unit is our stock number M17485 and you can find out more specs and information here. Call us at 951-252-2980 to arrange a test drive and discuss your needs.

Subject to prior sale.

Silverado Concepts Show Personalization Possibilities

2019 Silverado 1500 launches full suite of truck accessories and performance parts, offering customers more personalization choices for the all-new truck

DALLAS — Chevrolet introduced a stylized 2019 Silverado High Country today at the State Fair of Texas, highlighting Chevrolet’s collection of truck accessories and performance parts for the all-new Silverado.
The High Country is one of four concepts Chevrolet will introduce this fall, each designed to showcase how customers can accessorize the new Silverado to suit their personalities.
“We know every truck customer is unique, which is why the Silverado offers eight trims, each with a different combination of technology, performance and design,” said Hugh Milne, Silverado marketing manager. “With a full catalog of accessories and performance parts, we offer exponentially more ways for customers to build their ideal truck. And, unlike certain aftermarket components, these are designed, engineered and validated to the same engineering standards as the Silverado itself, and backed by Chevrolet.”
The catalog of genuine Chevrolet performance parts and accessories includes step kits and tonneau covers, illuminated bowtie emblems, cargo bed storage boxes, brake systems and suspension lift kits. These parts were designed and developed along with the new truck, for seamless design and performance integration. GM-designed parts are validated to the same rigorous standards as the factory-installed components, and are warranted by Chevrolet when installed at the Chevrolet dealer.1 Associated Accessories are developed and backed by third-party companies, and are reviewed by Chevrolet to determine proper fitment.1
Customers can shop online for the parts at Chevrolet.com/accessories and choose home or dealer delivery, as well as select dealer installation.
All four personalized Silverado models will go on display at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct. 30-Nov. 2. They include:

About Chevrolet Silverado Performance parts
Chevrolet Performance parts for the new Silverado were developed to make the most of what the propulsion, braking and suspension systems can offer. For example, the following Chevrolet Performance parts for the new Silverado are 50-state legal and their installation does not void the New Vehicle Limited Warranty:
  • Chevrolet Performance Two-inch Suspension Lift. Leverages the same components as the factory two-inch lift on Silverado Trail Boss models. Available for most 2019 Silverado configurations, it offers new front and rear monotube dampers, front half-shafts (for 4x4 models), jounce bumpers, spacers and replacement fasteners. Also included is a dealer-installed electronic power steering calibration and front camera reconfiguration (if equipped), ensuring that all driver assist systems are maintained. (Expert installation by dealer is recommended.)
  • Chevrolet Performance Front and Rear Brake Upgrade System. For braking by the numbers, the Chevrolet Performance Brake Upgrade System simply adds up. The system centers around 410 mm x 32 mm (16.1-inch x 1.3-inch) Duralife™ rotors that feature a hardened surface to reduce corrosion and provide quieter braking with less vibration. Coupled with Bright Red Chevrolet Performance Brembo® six-piston fixed aluminum calipers, this upgrade system means serious business with a 22 percent increase in rotor area over stock and 89 percent increase in brake pad area to increase system thermal capacity. Color-matched red rear brake calipers are also available. (Systems require at least 20-inch wheels. Only GM-approved wheels and tires should be used. See dealer for additional details and restrictions.)
  • Chevrolet Performance Cold Air Intakes for 5.3L and 6.2L engines. Offering 13 percent and 17 percent airflow restriction improvements, respectively, over the stock 5.3L and 6.2L air intake systems, these are designed to let the Silverado’s V-8 engines breathe deeper and add a performance appearance under the hood. Both air intakes are 50 state legal.
  • Chevrolet Performance Cat-Back Exhaust Systems in 5.3L Single Side Exit, 5.3L Dual Exit and 6.2L Dual Exit.  With an increase in horsepower of up to 7, 10 and 13 respectively, these systems also reduce backpressure and are fabricated with 304 stainless steel pipes.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado is on sale now, offered in eight trims and six propulsion combinations. MSRP starts at $29,795 (excludes tax, title, license, optional equipment and dealer fees.)
1. Accessories installed by an authorized GM Dealer will be covered, parts and labor, for the longer of the following: a) 12 months/12,000 miles (whichever comes first), or b) the balance of the applicable portion of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. See your dealer for details. Accessories (i) purchased at a dealership (but not installed by a dealer), (ii) shipped directly to a customer, or (iii) not requiring installation, will receive the standard GM Dealer Parts Warranty of 12 months from the date of purchase, parts only, regardless of miles. Associated Accessories are provided by independent companies and are not warranted by GM or its dealers. The independent company providing an Associated Accessory, rather than GM, is responsible for the safety and quality of Associated Accessories. For more details on exhaust system compliance with local and state noise ordinances, trailer weight rating calculations, cargo limitations, load trailer weight capacities and possible installation charges incurred with certain accessories, contact your local GM Dealer.
