Perhaps the original fleet work truck is the 1/2-ton pickup in all its variations like a regular cab, crew cab, V6, V8, 2-wheel drive, and 4x4. Whether new or previously owned, dressed up for day and evening work, or in its most basic form, the Silverado 1500 is an excellent choice.

What a great work truck this is! We begin with the solid 3500 HD single rear wheel regular cab chassis with the 6.6 Gas V8, automatic, AC, and many creature comforts to make getting from one job to another a sheer pleasure. We add the Harbor Truck Bodies 8' Trademaster Service Body with stainless steel open-top lids, HD forklift-loadable material rack, and trailer receiver. Plus, we've ordered this unit with the famous Tommygate Folding Liftgate, which is ideal for helping get those heavy things into and out of the bed area.
The Fast Forward video series, hosted by Bobit Fleet Group Editor Chris Brown, is about connecting with leaders in fleet, tech, and automotive to show what the future holds for fleets of all types.
In this episode, Chris interviews Sharon Etherington, who manages the Roche Diagnostics fleet, and Krista McKenna, senior SHE (safety, health, and environment) professional at Roche. The discussion centers on how fleets can start on a path to measuring carbon emissions and working with internal and external stakeholders to realize results.
You carry heavy loads, and you need a truck to handle that with ease and comfort. This Silverado 5500 Crew Cab with the 6.6 Duramax diesel and Allison automatic with 19,500 lbs. gross vehicle weight rating will do this very well. Matched to this chassis is the Harbor Contractor Body with stainless steel open-top lids, fold-down rear gates, and a cantilevered forklift-loadable material rack, which allows the rear of the bed to be effectively used as a workbench.
Truck fleets have been using pickup trucks pretty much since pickup trucks existed. At Paradise Fleet, we are always finding ways to keep up with the demand for this excellent work truck.
In new pickups, we have the Colorado, 1500, and 2500HD, as shown above. They come with various engine and drivetrain combinations, the popular crew cab, as shown in these images, and the double cab and regular cab designations.
The ever-popular Chevrolet 2500HD shines in this double cab model with the legendary Duramax diesel, 10-sp automatic, AC, and plenty of other creature comforts. Excellent power, fuel economy, space, and efficiency. On this excellent chassis sits the Harbor 8' service body with stainless steel top lids, deep compartments, open-top storage for small parts or long tools, a heavy-duty tapered-leg forklift loadable material rack, a master locking system, a trailer receiver, and more.
Provide proof of your driving prowess. You can record video and audio of your best moments behind the wheel. An available programmable video overlay can display your speed, g forces, 0—60 times, and more.

🎙Today's topics include:
- More and more of these catalytic converter thefts are turning violent, and on at least three occasions, the vehicle owners were killed while the crime was in progress.
- It is important to instruct employee drivers not to confront thieves who are attempting to steal catalytic converters from their fleet vehicles and instead to keep their distance and immediately call 911.
- In 2018, there were 1,298 catalytic converter thefts. Three years later, in 2021, catalytic converter theft claims jumped to 14,433 incidents — a 325% increase in a single year.
- Year to date, in calendar-year 2022, from January to September, more than 50,000 catalytic converters have been stolen from parked vehicles in the U.S.
It is much more efficient to carry the tools, parts, products, and accessories and stay in the field rather than go back and forth to the shop. Sometimes, the perfect solution is a larger truck body. First, we need a chassis to handle it, and for convenience and efficiency's sake, we want it to be maneuverable too!
This truck may very well solve all of those issues. We begin with the Chevrolet LCF (Low Cab Forward) 4500 chassis with 14,500 lbs. gross vehicle weight rating, a 6.6 gas V8, 6-speed automatic, AC, and many other convenience features.
To this, we add the famous Knapheide KUV plumber-style body. This 132" wheelbase chassis allows the 13' utility body to fit perfectly and gives you a larger body to carry more cargo. The good news is that the turning radius or maneuverability is excellent. Even with this large truck body, this chassis will turn a circle inside the turning circle of a typical full-size pickup with an 8' bed. That's having your cake and eating it too!
This combination is hard to come by, so call 951-364-2499 and talk with one of our fleet specialists today and let us solve your most pressing work truck issues.
Fleets have been deriving value and improving efficiencies with telematics systems for years. Traditionally, this involved installing a modem in each fleet vehicle. Today, most modems are available directly from the factory. In this Fleet Momentum video series, Jason Hammond, director of mobile field solutions at AT&T, discusses the transition to OEM-sourced modems, the benefits they provide, and what fleets need to be thinking about when managing them and the data they provide.
