Work Truck Wednesday's Choice When You Need A Skosh More Room

The difference in dimensions of this dual rear wheel truck is very similar to a single rear wheel model, and yet, this dually can handle a dramatic difference in payload from the size of the things you carry to the weight of all that cargo. When you need a skosh more room, this may be the perfect answer!

This great 1-ton chassis has a whopping 14,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight rating, the legendary 6.6 Duramax diesel, and Allison automatic combination, along with comfort and convenience features to make the transit from one job to another a pleasure. In addition, this is a crew cab model and will take the team with you when needed.

To this great chassis, we've added the famous Knapheide 8' service body with a master locking system, HD forklift loadable material rack, trailer receiver, and deep compartments to support your tool and parts needs in the field.

CHEVY ANNOUNCES NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR $100K ‘LEAD DREAM CHASER’ OPPORTUNITY

To celebrate the launch of the 2024 Trax, one person will receive $100,000 and the all-new Chevy Trax for three months to help chase their dream

2023-01-11

DETROIT – In anticipation of the arrival of the 2024 Chevrolet Trax this spring, Chevy is announcing an opportunity for a chance to become a “Lead Dream Chaser.” This three-month opportunity will enable one person to pursue their lifelong dream or passion project. The Lead Dream Chaser will share their journey on social media and in return receive $100,000 and three months with the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax1.

Chevy has teamed up with Everette Taylor, a creative entrepreneur and CEO of Kickstarter, to identify the best person to serve as Lead Dream Chaser. Everette is deeply experienced in building and growing successful businesses, and is passionate about supporting others to help with their own career goals, making him a great teammate to help find Chevy's Lead Dream Chaser.

“The past few years have caused many to consider turning their ideas and ambitions into reality, and I'm excited to help Chevy find a qualified person who will pursue their dream,” said Taylor.

The 30-day submission period opened the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 132. Friday afternoons are the most popular time of the week for daydreaming, according to a Chevy-commissioned Harris Poll survey.

To enter for a chance to become the Lead Dream Chaser, eligible entrants3 can visit ChevyDreamChaser.com to submit a short video about themselves, their dream and how they plan to leverage the all-new Trax and funds to pursue a passion project or help their community. Larger than today’s Trax, it offers more space for passengers and cargo, a robust array of standard safety features5 and technologies to help keep customers connected — all great offerings for Chevy’s Lead Dream Chaser.

“We look forward to reviewing the submissions and following along the journey of the Lead Dream Chaser,” said Steve Majoros, chief marketing officer, Chevrolet. “The all-new Chevy Trax has everything you need to pursue your passion in style, so we encourage every dreamer to check it out.”

Work Truck Wednesday With Great Truck and Body Combo

Happy Wednesday to you all as we show off one of the excellent truck body combinations in the work truck world. This is a Chevrolet 2500HD with a 6.6 gas V8, Automatic, A/C, and much more. It is also a crew cab with plenty of legroom in the rear, bucket seats and console in front, and enough room for five comfortably. This is great, but now we add the Royal 8' open-top service body with tons of storage, an HD material rack, and more. To add massive value to this combination, we've added the raised cargo bed enclosure with barn-style doors on the rear. This allows whatever is being carried inside to be out of sight and out of the weather and is lockable too. But there is more! The top of the cargo bed enclosure has a 3-piece enclosure that opens up two-thirds of the bed area for ease of loading and unloading and allows taller items to be carried as needed. What a fantastic combination of truck and truck body, ready to go to work for you!

Electric Fleet Friday: Powering up: Leading the charge for EV infrastructure

Powering up: Leading the charge for EV infrastructure

Electric vehicles get a lot of attention, and understandably so. They’re exciting, innovative and sleek. Who hasn’t seen a new EV, whether in an advertisement or on the road, and paused to take a closer look?

What we don’t hear about as often are the crucial pieces of infrastructure that make EVs possible: charging stations. Without a robust network of charging hubs to plug into, using an electric vehicle for anything but short, local trips can be challenging.

GM is committed to delivering a simplified, efficient and accessible charging experience for all EV drivers. Expanding charging access is an important step in our Zero, Zero, Zero vision. To make this happen, we’re collaborating with dealers and charging station operators, working to streamline the charging experience and helping to close charging equity gaps in our communities.

Charging that meets you where you are
Today, nearly 90 percent of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a GM dealership. We’re tapping into this extensive reach to accelerate the deployment of charging in underserved, rural and urban communities. Together with our participating dealers, we’re helping supply up to 40,000 Level 2 chargers at popular destinations and workplaces in the areas our dealers serve.

To help accelerate the widespread adoption of EVs, increase access to charging and help enable long-distance electric travel of people and vehicles across the U.S., we are collaborating with Pilot Company (Pilot and Flying J) on a national DC fast charging network that will be installed, operated and maintained by EVgo through their eXtend offering. This project demonstrates how public and private entities can come together to build out the nation’s charging infrastructure, particularly along American highways, connecting urban and rural communities, the East and West Coasts and different metropolitan areas.

GM is also working alongside EVgo to install an additional 3,250 fast-charging stations in U.S. cities and suburbs by the end of 2025.

A Seamless Charging Experience
Tying it all together is Ultium Charge 360, GM’s holistic charging approach that integrates charging networks, GM vehicle mobile apps, and other products and services to simplify the overall charging experience. Ultium Charge 360 enables drivers to tap into a network of 11 charging station operators and more than 100,000 charge points across the U.S. and Canada with a single app.

Accessibility for all
We’re focused on making EVs and charging accessible to all. In June 2021, we announced our Equitable Climate Action initiative to help ensure that our transition to an all-electric future is inclusive of our workforce, customers and communities. As part of this initiative, we’re supporting grassroots and community organizations working to close equity gaps in the transition to EVs and other sustainable technology through a $50M Climate Equity Fund.

Forth Mobility Fund received a grant of $500,000 from the fund to aid in the equitable distribution of federal charging investments under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill. With this grant, Forth will provide hands-on assistance to help low-income, rural and tribal communities secure federal charging funds, helping not only develop and submit proposals but also put the funds to good use quickly.

Plugging in Charger to Electric Vehicle
We believe the democratization of charging is vital to accelerating the mass adoption of EVs. Our goal is to simplify the charging experience for EV owners at home and in public and to help ensure that critical charging infrastructure is available to all.

Work Truck Wednesday Features Straight-Side Plumber Body with Rack

For today's Work Truck Wednesday, we feature a Harbor WorkMaster plumber-style body with a height where you can stand straight up inside, making it much more useful as a daily work truck. In addition, this body has straight sides, which take up almost no space beyond the width of the cab. It also features a heavy-duty rooftop rack with a built-in ladder. There are two large swing-out doors and one small door to access the inside shelf, which is perfect for pipe and being able to access the pipe without opening the large doors. This unit also features a backup camera system for safety. The inside features two shelves on both sides and LED lighting. Of course, all the locking compartments are outside for tools, parts, and more.

All this is mounted on the Chevrolet Express 3500 cutaway single-rear-wheel chassis with a 6.6 gas V8, automatic transmission, AC, and much more. We think this excellent combination is perfect for getting work done efficiently and effectively.
