2019 Silverado Delivers More Truck, More Capability, More Value

DETROIT — Today, Chevrolet announced that the 2019 Silverado LT will be larger, more capable, more fuel efficient and feature a starting at MSRP that is up to $700 less than the outgoing model.

“For more than 100 years, Chevrolet has developed a reputation for building trucks that offer incredible performance, capability, and value,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet. “The next-gen Silverado continues that tradition — offering more interior and cargo room, higher towing and payload capabilities and a lower starting at MSRP on our highest volume model.”

The 2019 Silverado LT crew cab has a starting at MSRP $700 less than today’s truck, even with new standard equipment including an all-new 2.7L Turbo engine with 22 percent more torque than the 4.3L V-6 it replaces, an eight-speed automatic transmission, stop-start technology and active aero shutters.

The upscale and comprehensively equipped High Country also introduces a host of new standard equipment, including the 5.3L V-8 with new Dynamic Fuel Management, push-button start, stop-start technology, active aero shutters, Lane Change Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Advanced Trailering System, enhanced LED exterior lighting, dual exhaust outlets and class-exclusive power up/down tailgate — and a starting at MSRP increase of only $1,000.
Other available equipment introduced on the 2019 Silverado includes:
  • Z71 Off-road Equipment Package is now available on all models (and standard on Trail Boss models, which also feature a factory-installed 2-inch lifted suspension, Rancho™ monotube shocks, and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires). The Z71 package includes:
  • Off-road tuned Rancho™ twin-tube shocks.
  • Electronic hill descent control.
  • Two-speed transfer case and automatic locking rear differential.
  • Skid plates for engine oil pan and transfer-case protection.
  • Heavy-duty air filter.
  • 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires.
  • Dual exhaust outlets for models equipped with V-8 engines.
  • Advanced, active-safety features, including:
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert*.
  • Front and Rear Park Assist*.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert*.
  • Forward Collision Alert* and Following Distance Indicator*.
  • Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking*.
  • Front Pedestrian Braking*.
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning*.
  • Safety Alert Seat*.
  • IntelliBeam headlamps, high-beam assist.
  • Advanced technology features, including:
  • GM-exclusive, 3 x 7-inch configurable color head-up display.
  • 8-inch configurable driver information center.
  • Surround Vision*.
  • Rear Camera Mirror*
The next-gen Silverado is also larger than the outgoing model in virtually every dimension. For example, the Silverado crew cab short box has 1.2 inches more total width, 1.5 inches more total height, 1.7 inches more total length and 3.9 inches more wheelbase.

As a result, the Silverado offers an additional 3 inches of cab length for all configurations and up to 4 cubic feet more interior volume. It also offers the largest cargo volume of any full-size truck in short-bed, standard-bed, and long-bed models. In fact, at 62.9 cubic feet, the Silverado short bed offers more cargo volume than the standard bed of the Ford F-150.

Despite the larger footprint, the Silverado is up to 450 pounds lighter than the outgoing truck (crew cab, short-bed models with the 5.3L V-8 and Max Towing Package), due to advanced manufacturing and the use of mixed materials.

The 2019 Silverado lineup also offers more choices than ever, including six engine/transmission combinations that give customers different combinations of performance, efficiency, and value, as well as increased towing and payload capabilities:
  • Crew cab Silverado models increase in payload up to 14 percent or 340 pounds.
  • The 4.3L V-6 now offer a maximum of 8,000 pounds towing, up 400 pounds (regular cab, rear-wheel-drive models).
  • The 5.3L V-8 with Max Towing Package now offers a maximum of 11,600 pounds towing, up 400 pounds (double-cab, rear-wheel-drive models).
  • For 2019, the 6.2L V-8 is now exclusively offered with four-wheel drive. Equipped with the Max Towing Package, it now delivers a maximum of 12,200 pounds towing, up 500 pounds from a similarly equipped 2018 model (double-cab, four-wheel-drive models).
The first engines to be produced will be the 5.3L V-8 equipped with an eight-speed automatic, and the 6.2L V-8 equipped with a 10-speed automatic. Both offer more than 5 percent improvement in
city fuel economy, for an improvement of 1 mile per gallon based on EPA estimates.

Models equipped with the 5.3L V-8 and rear-wheel drive offer an EPA-estimated 17 miles per gallon city, 23 highway and 19 combined. Models equipped with four-wheel drive and the 6.2L V-8 offer an EPA-estimated 16 miles per gallon city, 20 highway and 17 combined.

EPA estimates for the other engines, including the all-new 2.7L Turbo and all-new Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel, are not yet available. However, both engines are expected to offer customers even greater fuel efficiency choices.

July 11th Work Truck Wednesday - Crew Cab LCF with 12' Contractor Body

Contractor Bodies are one of the most useful of truck bodies in that you have large lockable compartments for tools, parts, supplies and much more while at the same time having the utility of a flatbed truck including a heavy-duty rack. This is the reason that so many contractors love the Contractor Body.

Then, when you put this 12' Contractor Body on an LCF Crew Cab chassis, you get something far more useful by being able to carry the entire crew to the job site in comfort and the tight turning radius that the LCF affords. This creates a great combination and a truck that will outlast many others on the road too.

This particular 2017 new Chevrolet Low Cab Forward truck is Stock Number M171018 and has a GVWR of 14,500 lbs with a wheelbase of only 150" that is only slightly longer than that of an 8' pickup truck. No wonder the maneuverability is stellar! The 12' Contractor Body is by Harbor Truck Bodies.

This truck is subject to prior sale. Call us for special pricing on this and see more here.

2019 Chevrolet Blazer Reveal

ATLANTA — Chevrolet is raising the bar on crossover design with the introduction of the 2019 Blazer as the newest member of the industry’s broadest, freshest crossover and SUV lineup since 2015. The all-new contemporary midsize SUV is rooted in attention-grabbing design with seamlessly integrated customer-focused technologies and superb functionality.
“Chevrolet has been at the forefront of each of the major automotive industry trends by anticipating consumer demand and delivering innovative products like Bolt EV, Colorado and Trax,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and head of Global Chevrolet. “The introduction of the all-new Blazer builds on that momentum and further strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today.”
Slotting between the Equinox and Traverse, the 2019 Blazer will offer unique design elements on each model, appealing to customers seeking distinctive styling and outstanding utility.
Highlights include:
  • Bold styling that features a strong grille and muscular proportions.
  • Driver-centric interior and distinctive looks on all models.
  • Model range includes sporty RS and up-level Premier models.
  • Five-passenger seating with up to 64.2 cubic feet (1,818 L) of max cargo space with second-row seats folded flat.
  • Adjustable sliding rear seat.
  • Available Chevy-first cargo management system with a rail system and cargo fence.
  • Available panoramic dual-pane power sunroof.
  • Suite of available active safety features.
  • Standard 2.5L I-4 and available 3.6L V-6 engines, each backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission.
  • Advanced twin-clutch AWD system available.
  • 4,500 pounds (2,041 kg) estimated max trailering with the available 3.6L V-61.
  • Available Hitch View feature that helps the driver align the hitch with the trailer.
An SUV With Attitude
The 2019 Blazer is the boldest, most progressive expression of the Chevrolet crossover design theme. A wide stance, tight proportions, a high beltline and dramatic sculpting give it a toned, athletic appearance from all angles.
“The Blazer has attitude,” said John Cafaro, executive director, Global Chevrolet Design. “It looks commanding on the road, while fulfilling the promise of versatility at the heart of every Chevy crossover and SUV.”
Each model in the lineup offers a unique look with distinct styling to suit different customers’ tastes, including unique grille appearances, additional bright chrome on the Premier trim and a more sinister-looking, blacked-out appearance for the Blazer RS.
A powerful front end featuring a strong grille, athletic hood lines and low-placed HID headlamps distinguishes all models. The design also features a distinctive lighting execution that separates the headlamps and LED daytime running lamps.
Long, lean and sculpted body sides lead to a rear end highlighted by LED-illuminated Chevy-signature dual-element taillamps, dual exhaust outlets and an integrated tailgate spoiler. The Blazer also offers a range of stylish wheels, starting with standard 18-inch aluminum rims and expanding to available 21-inch wheels on the RS and Premier.
The Blazer’s cabin echoes the bold exterior theme with sporty good looks. The design emphasizes space, craftsmanship and customer personalization, with a wide range of interior styling choices for the different models, achieved through several color and trim choices. Sporty details include a padded knee area, round air vents and grab handles on the doors.
The new Blazer also offers a Chevrolet-first Cargo Management System, standard on RS and Premier models. It features a rail system and cargo fence to help secure smaller items by dividing the cargo area.
Seamless Technology and Connectivity
The 2019 Blazer is designed to offer occupants seamless connectivity, intuitive controls and a host of convenience features that help make the drive more comfortable.
Features include:
  • Hitch Guidance — Available on models with the 3.6L engine, it aids in aligning the Blazer’s hitch to a trailer by showing the center line on the rear-vision camera.
  • Hitch View — This available feature complements Hitch Guidance by showing a top-down view, making it easier to hitch a trailer without a second person to assist.
  • Electronic-locking glove box — A Chevy first, it offers added storage security, and is roomy enough to fit a small handbag. The glove box is locked with the vehicle’s Valet Mode, which is accessible through the Settings menu.
  • Automatic heated steering wheel and automatic heated/ventilated front seats — These available features work with Remote Start and/or automatic climate control to automatically adjust temperature to help maintain comfort.
  • Comfort-open windows — Activated by the key fob, this feature allows all windows to roll down to help heat escape before occupants enter the vehicle.
  • Heated outboard rear seats are available on RS and standard on Premier.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control and Rear Camera Mirror are available on RS and Premier2.
  • Hands-free power liftgate with Bowtie logo projection is standard on RS and Premier.
  • Wireless charging and six USB ports are available.
When it comes to connectivity, an 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen running Chevrolet Infotainment 3 is standard, along with 4G LTE Wi-Fi (with 1-month/3GB data trial)3 and Apple CarPlay4 and Android Auto5compatibility.
Performance and Capability
The new Blazer is powered by a standard 2.5L I-4 engine rated at 193 hp (143 kW) and 188 lb-ft of torque (255 Nm). A 3.6L V-6 is also available, offering 305 hp (227 kW) and 269 lb-ft of torque (365 Nm).
Both direct-injected engines feature intelligent stop/start technology that seamlessly shuts off the engine when power is not needed, based on a variety of driving factors, and both are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
“The Chevrolet Blazer is more than just good looks,” said Waqar Hashim, Blazer chief engineer. “Both the Ecotec® 2.5L four-cylinder engine and 3.6L V-6 engine are paired to Chevrolet’s nine-speed automatic transmission, providing drivers a great balance between performance and efficiency.”
Traction Select is standard on all models and allows the driver to make real-time adjustments to the vehicle’s driving mode to account for varying road conditions. On AWD models, it also allows the system to be completely disconnected from the rear axle, meaning drivers can opt to have their vehicle operate in FWD when AWD capability is not necessary.
RS and Premier models offer a more sophisticated twin-clutch AWD technology that helps optimize traction for every condition. It provides excellent performance in wet, snowy and icy conditions, while also providing enhanced stability in dry weather.
Available Early 2019
The Chevrolet Blazer will arrive at U.S. dealerships in early 2019. Additional details and pricing will be announced closer to the start of production.

The Next Century of Chevy Trucks Starts Here | Chevrolet

NEXT-GEN SILVERADO REVEALED

AT CHEVY TRUCK CENTENNIAL EVENT

All-new 2019 Silverado

builds on 100 years of Chevy Truck expertise

DALLAS — The past and future met today with the introduction of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado at an event celebrating the first 100 years of Chevy Trucks. Many in attendance were Chevy Truck Legends members, some of the brand’s most passionate owners.

“Our owners’ passion for Chevrolet trucks is truly humbling,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America, and global head of Chevrolet. “Many of our owners depend on their trucks for work and play, personalize their trucks in astonishing ways and pass their loyalty for Chevy Trucks down from generation to generation.

“For the Chevy Truck Centennial, we wanted to recognize the customers who have made Chevrolet part of their lives, and have them help kick off the next 100 years of Chevy Trucks.”

The 2019 Silverado 1500 is all new from the ground up and leverages Chevrolet’s experience building more than 85 million dependable, long-lasting pickups. It also reflects feedback from more than 7,000 people on what they wanted in their next truck — the most customer research in the company’s history.

The 2019 Silverado’s strong, modern design advances Chevrolet’s history of industry-leading pickup design. It’s a legacy built on decades of experience with models such as the Advance Design trucks of the 1950s and the C/K series of the 1960s. Those trucks set the standard for pickup design in their eras, and currently are some of the most coveted vintage trucks on the market. The next-generation Silverado is poised to change the face of trucks again, with a breakthrough design that is unmistakably Chevrolet.

The new Silverado also delivers improved capability and performance. For example, a higher-grade alloy is used in the roll-formed, high-strength-steel bed floor, contributing to a bed that is more functional and lighter weight. This use of mixed materials and advanced manufacturing is evident throughout the Silverado, resulting in a significant reduction in total vehicle weight and improved performance in many measures.

As no two truck customers are alike, the next-gen Silverado will offer an expanded range of models, more engine/transmission combinations and more technology and convenience features to help customers find their ideal truck.

The new Silverado LT Trailboss is one of eight 2019 Silverado models. It integrates the off-road equipment of the Z71 package as well as a two-inch suspension lift. Unlike aftermarket lift kits, the Trailboss suspension is fully tested, validated and warrantied by Chevrolet.

The 2019 Silverado will make its public debut in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, exactly 100 years after the first Chevrolet trucks were delivered to customers.
