Work Truck Wednesday - The Comfortable KUV with Room For People!

The Knapheide KUV body is very popular and most of them are mounted on van cutaway chassis. That is, of course, an excellent choice; however, sometimes you need to carry people to the job site and you just want more comfort than the cutaway offers. Enter the Double Cab conventional cab chassis. This is exactly like a pickup on the inside and most of the outside too. Way more comfort than a cutaway in all ways. More room for people too when that need presents itself. And, the most popular height of the three heights available for the KUV is the low room design and this unit looks like it was made for this chassis.

This great body is mounted on our stock #M171042 and is a 2017 new Silverado 2500 chassis with the 6.0-liter V-8 gas motor and the 6-sp automatic transmission, AC, nice comfortable seats and much more. We're ready to part with this unit at a special price, so call us today at 951-252-2980 and let it go to work for you.

See more about this unit here.

Subject to prior sale.

2019 Silverado Leads Industry with Dynamic Fuel Management

Segment-first technology offers
17 different modes of cylinder deactivation

DETROIT — The all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will offer the most advanced gasoline V-8 engines in the brand’s history: updated versions of the proven 5.3L and 6.2L V-8s with Dynamic Fuel Management. This industry-first cylinder deactivation technology enables the engines to operate in 17 different cylinder patterns to optimize power delivery and efficiency.

“Chevrolet first introduced its Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation system in 2005, and Dynamic Fuel Management is a natural progression of the technology,” said Jordan Lee, Small Block chief engineer. “Dynamic Fuel Management enables only the cylinders needed to deliver the power you want, seamlessly delivering the best balance of power and fuel economy.”

Compared to Active Fuel Management, which alternates between eight- and four-cylinder modes, DFM features 17 cylinder patterns. That greater authority mixes cylinder patterns constantly to optimize efficiency and power delivery at all speeds.

During an industry-standard test schedule, the 2019 Silverado 2WD with the 5.3L and DFM operated with fewer than eight active cylinders more than 60 percent of the time, 9 percent more than a comparably equipped 2018 model with AFM.

DFM is powered by a sophisticated controller that continuously monitors every movement of the accelerator pedal and runs a complex sequence of calculations to determine how many cylinders are required to meet the driver’s requested torque. It can make this determination 80 times per second.

An electromechanical system deactivates and reactivates all 16 of the engine’s hydraulic valve lifters, controlling valve actuation. The system uses solenoids to deliver oil pressure to control ports in the lifters, which activate and deactivate the lifters’ latching mechanisms. When a cylinder is deactivated, the two-piece lifters effectively collapse on themselves to prevent them from opening the valves. When the cylinder is reactivated, solenoids send an oil pressure signal to the control ports on the lifters and the latching mechanism restores normal function, allowing the valves to open and close.

“The increased variability of Dynamic Fuel Management means the engine will operate more often with a reduced number of cylinders, which saves fuel across the board,” said Lee. “Better yet, the transitions are transparent, and because the system is torque-based, you’ve always got that satisfying feeling of power on demand that comes from Chevy’s Gen V Small Block V-8 engines.”

The 5.3L V-8 with DFM is SAE-certified at 355 horsepower (265 kW) and 383 lb-ft of torque (519 Nm) and is matched with a Hydra-Matic eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 6.2Lwith DFM — the largest and most powerful gas V-8 in the segment — is SAE-certified at 420 horsepower (313 kW) and 460 lb-ft of torque (623 Nm) and is paired with a Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission.

Both transmissions feature enhancements designed to improve shift quality, as well as a new centrifugal pendulum absorber torque converter that reduces vibrations to improve smoothness, particularly during cylinder deactivation events.

The engines also feature driver-selectable stop/start technology that helps save fuel in stop-and-go traffic. The 5.3L version is standard in LTZ and High Country models and available on LT, RST and Trail Boss. The 6.2L is available in LTZ and High Country. Both engines will be built at General Motors’ Tonawanda Engine Plant in Buffalo, New York.

Active Fuel Management also is employed on the Silverado’s standard 4.3L V-6 and E-85-capable 5.3L V-8.

The 2019 Silverado goes on sale this fall. EPA fuel economy estimates and towing/payload capacities are not yet available will be announced closer to launch.

Chevrolet Puts Towing Experience At Forefront Of 2019 Silverado 1500

DETROIT — The all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 will introduce several levels of towing features to improve customers’ trailering experiences — all light-duty Silverado models have myChevrolet® trailering phone app capability and customers can add the Advanced Trailering System, which includes access to the system in-vehicle.
The Trailering Camera Package works in conjunction with both of these technologies and provides a more comprehensive trailer view.
Chevrolet is also helping to take the guesswork out of calculating the combined weight of customers’ truck and trailer combinations thanks to an industry-first trailering label.
In developing the all-new Silverado, Chevrolet spoke with 7,000 customers over the course of 18,000 hours. Sixty percent of those surveyed named towing as a key purchase consideration. Another recurring theme was the difficulty many customers have with certain aspects of trailering.
To address this, all four trailering levels offered on the 2019 Silverado 1500 will provide customers more confidence, easier trailer hitching and improved connectivity between the truck and trailer.
“Ultimately, these technologies serve to eliminate common pain points of towing and help provide customers with a less stressful experience while trailering,” said Tim Herrick, executive chief engineer, Full-Size Trucks, General Motors.
myChevrolet® app trailering features for smartphones
Included with the purchase of all 2019 Silverado 1500s, the myChevrolet® app will offer select trailering features such as pre-departure step-by-step towing checklists and a glossary of towing terms for compatible smartphones and data plans1.
The myChevrolet® phone app also allows drivers to conduct a trailer light test that uses an automatic exterior light sequence to help confirm that the trailer is properly connected. In the past, this was a two-person job – now a single individual can properly connect a trailer and check the lights.
The trailer light sequence can also be activated via the Advanced Trailering System.
Advanced Trailering System
For customers who tow more often, the Advanced Trailering System provides features to make towing a more seamless process. The system is standard on LTZ and High Country trim levels and available on LT, RST and Trail Boss trim levels. The system includes:
  • Auto Parking Brake Assist: Customers who’ve dealt with the frustration of perfectly aligning their truck and trailer hitch only to see the truck roll when they put it in park will appreciate this industry-first technology. It sets automatically when the vehicle is put into Hitch View to help avoid vehicle movement after the customer lines up the truck with the trailer and then shifts to park.
  • Hitch Guidance with Hitch View: This adds a dynamic backing guideline to the Rear Vision Camera system to help customers line up their hitch, adding some precision and a visual cue to reduce the difficulty of aligning a hitch to a trailer.
  • Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System: When properly equipped, this optional feature can monitor the tire pressure of the trailer tires using the truck’s infotainment system. This system also allows customers to monitor the temperature of their trailer tires to help prevent blowouts from overheating. Requires optional equipment and dealer installation.
Advanced Trailering System Infotainment app
This infotainment app that comes with the available Advanced Trailering System allows customers to track the mileage, fuel economy and transmission temperature of their truck while towing2. Customers can create and store up to five profiles, including guests, for different trailer types.
Brake gain memory is part of this system and works with the Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, which provides fingertip control of the trailer brakes, to let the customer set and save the controller’s brake gain setting for each trailer within their profile.
Another industry-first, Trailer Theft Alert, can activate the truck’s lights and horn if the harness of the trailer attached to the truck is disconnected3. Customers enrolled in the OnStar Safety & Security Plan will also receive a theft alert via their preferred method of contact: phone, text or email.
The available wireless trailer tire pressure and temperature monitors listed above are also integrated into this system. Four sensors come with the Advanced Trailering System, with more available as accessories. Dealer installation is required.
Trailer Camera Package
This all-new package enhances trailering views with three cameras that provide a 270-degree view:
  • Standard Rear Vision Camera.
  • Two side view cameras mounted in the side view mirrors.
An optional fourth accessory camera that mounts to the trailer provides an even more comprehensive view while towing.
Trailering label
Not all trucks, even from the same manufacturer, are exactly alike in terms of their capacities to tow and haul. Capability tends to vary widely from truck to truck and can be difficult to calculate.
To address this, Chevrolet has created an industry-first trailering label that is located on the driver’s side door jamb of all next-generation 2019 Silverado pickups. This label provides customers with the information they need to calculate their pickup’s exact capacities.
This label takes the guesswork out of towing and hauling and is tied to VINs of individual trucks, providing information such as:
  • Gross vehicle weight rating.
  • Gross combined weight rating.
  • Gross axle weight rating (rear).
  • Maximum payload.
  • Maximum tongue weight.
  • Curb weight.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado goes on sale in the fall of 2018.

Chevrolet Introduces Tahoe and Suburban Premier Plus Special Editions

DETROIT — Due to customer demand, Chevrolet is expanding the availability of the 6.2L V-8 engine within its full-size SUV lineup by introducing the Tahoe and Suburban Premier Plus special editions.
The 6.2L V-8 was first made available in the Chevy full-size SUV lineup on the 2018 Tahoe RST 6.2L Performance Package. The engine recently debuted on the 2019 Suburban RST 6.2L Performance Package, which is now on sale at Chevrolet dealerships nationwide.
All Premier Plus edition Chevy full-size SUVs, as well as RST Premier models with the optional 6.2L Performance Package, also feature Magnetic Ride Control with performance calibration and a Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission.
“Our customers have shown strong demand for both Tahoe and Suburban with the 6.2L V-8 option,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Trucks Marketing and Advertising. “Thirty-six percent of all Chevy full-size SUV special edition models are now sold with this engine. Premier Plus gives both Suburban and Tahoe customers another option to choose from with several added premium touches.”
The 2019 Tahoe and Suburban Premier Plus editions feature a unique interior with heated and ventilated Black/Mahogany-colored leather-appointed front seats against a Jet Black trim surround. This premium two-tone interior and 22-inch polished wheels make their first appearance in Chevy’s full-size SUV lineup with the Premier Plus special editions.
Other features include gold Chevrolet “bowtie” logos, chrome nameplate badging, a head-up display and 8-inch diagonal cluster, cross rails, chrome power steps and exhaust tip and a Chevrolet-branded cargo organizer.
Connectivity is provided by a standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi1 hotspot, and the Premier Plus package includes a 12-month data plan.
The available 6.2L V-8 is capable of 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The engine delivers three state-of-the-art technologies — direct injection, Active Fuel Management, and continuously variable valve timing — to make the most of power, torque, and efficiency across a broad range of operating conditions.
The 10-speed automatic transmission offers smaller steps between each ratio to maximize engine power under acceleration. With a wide 7.39 overall gear ratio spread and lower numerical top gear ratio, the transmission also reduces engine revolutions at highway speeds.
Magnetic Ride Control is an active suspension that “reads” the road every millisecond, triggering damping changes in the electronically controlled shock absorbers in as few as 10-15 milliseconds. As a result, the suspension delivers improved body-motion control during cornering and a more comfortable ride while cruising.
The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier Plus will start with an MSRP of $74,100 plus a $1,295 destination charge, while the 2019 Chevrolet Suburban Premier Plus will start at $76,900 with a $1,295 destination charge. (MSRP excludes tax, title, license, dealer fees, and optional equipment.)
Both Premier Plus full-size SUVs are also available to Costco members at GM supplier pricing with a $4,500 Costco member incentive2. Costco Gold Star and Business Members who purchase the vehicle through participating dealers and complete a Costco Auto Program survey are also eligible for a $300 Costco Cash Card, while Executive Members are eligible for a $700 Costco Cash Card.
The exclusive Costco member value package is only available on 5,000 vehicles. Costco offer is not compatible with any other GM incentives. To qualify, customers must be a member by Oct. 1, 2018, and take delivery between, Oct. 2, 2018, and Jan. 2, 2019.
The 2019 Tahoe and Suburban Premier Plus can be ordered from Chevrolet dealers now, with production beginning in mid-August.
  1. Service varies with conditions and location. Requires active OnStar service and paid AT&T data plan. Visit onstar.com for details and limitations.
  2. To qualify for this offer, the customer must: (1) Be a Costco member by Oct. 1, 2018; (2) Register with the Costco Auto Program to receive their GM Authorization Number and the contact information for a dealership that has opted in to offer the Premier Plus exclusive value package for Costco Members; (3) Present the GM Authorization Number to the dealer at time of visit; (4) Take delivery of a new 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier Plus or Suburban Premier Plus starting Oct. 2, 2018; (5) Submit a redemption form within 30 days of purchase or lease and complete a Costco Auto Program member satisfaction survey to receive the Costco Cash Card by mail. Please allow eight weeks for Costco Cash Card delivery, pending completion of all eligibility requirements; including redemption form submission, purchase verification from GM and phone survey completion. Not compatible with some other offers. Costco Cash Cards are not redeemable for cash, except where required by law.
